Vision of the Organization

  • To ensure a sustainable improvement of the quality of life of the people in the target areas

General Objective

  • To assist communities in bringing sustainable development through their active participation

Specific Objectives

  • To establish a capable organization that can effectively address the interests of stakeholders
  • Develop a target group within the areas of:
    • Reducing illiteracy rate
    • Promoting RH among adolescents in particular and the community at large to bring about attitudinal and behavioral changes
    • Raising the income of the poor through various means
    • Improving access to safe and adequate water supply

Strategy

  • Awareness creation on human rights particularly on women rights, aging issues, gender issues, and reproductive health including on HIV/AIDS and providing care & support to HIV/AIDS victims and vulnerable children
  • Integrating programs that address the obstacles, illiteracy, large family size, long waiting time during fetching water etc, that hamper the community in general and women in particular from participating in the development process
  • Diversifying the income generating activities & building the productive capacity of poor women to enhance their income and hence, improve their living standard
  • Networking with GOs& NGOs that seek to change the existing situation of women
  • Supporting community initiatives that are in line with WSO's development activities/aim, & are within its capacity.

Activities of the Organization

  • Providing education on RH, HIV/AIDS & Harmful Traditional Practices using peer education approach & strengthening/organizing clubs, and training to community members/volunteers on home care and counseling
  • Spring development and protection
  • Assisting women that involve in fuel-wood selling to form group/ associations subsequently providing credit, basic business skills and saving training
  • Assisting the poorest of poor women to form self-help groups and then implementing integrated development program with their participation
  • Providing different kinds of support to vulnerable old persons such as health care, food, credit, shelter rehabilitation, constructing grain bank and supporting their children to attend/ continue their education
