Vision of the Organization
- A country of equal opportunities for both
women and men
General Objective
- To promote
the education of female children and adult women
- To increase the awareness and active
participation of women about important rights, such as human
rights in general and women's and child's rights in particular
- To assist women gain access to productive
employment through technical training and improvement of their
access to credit facilities and institutional support systems;
- To increase the awareness of the communities
on personal and environmental hygiene
- To contribute to the national effort
of combating HIV/AIDS through care and support for the victims
Specific Objectives
- To design and implement support measures
for improvement of food security for rural women;
- To facilitate effective networking and alliance
formation among genuine sympathizers of women causes, gender
institutions, groups, individuals and the public at large;
- To sensitize women and the society at large
on the human rights of women, the critical role of women in
the exploitation, development, conservation and protection
of natural and manmade resources of the environment;
- To facilitate education opportunities for
female children, girl students and women illiterates at all
levels of educational ladder so that women could get the capacity
to participate in deciding the fate of their country
- To promote health and sanitation with
major emphasis on reproductive health, water supply, environmental
sanitation, campaign against the devastating effects of HIV/AIDS,
counseling and care for HIV/AIDS victims
Strategy
- PROGYNIST firmly believes in the active
involvement of beneficiaries and all stakeholders. It shall
work in collaboration with grass-root communities and their
existing social organizations, local political structure etc.
- Encourages and helps in the establishment
of children and women’s rights clubs
- Fully recognizes the absence of learning
opportunities for poor female children and women. Therefore,
it will organize alternative basic education classes, financially
supports higher education of poor children whose performances
have been excellent at elementary and secondary levels. It
shall also organize tutorial classes for high school girl
students to enhance their access to colleges/universities
