Vision of the Organization

  • ENA creates a situation and explore ways for nurses to firmly unite under the umbrella of their professional association, benefit from nursing, provide standardized nursing services and collaborate with the health policy makers in Ethiopia and with the international professional organizations such as International Council of Nurses (ICN) & Canadian Nurses Association (CNA)

Specific Objectives

  • To develop a standardized nursing service appropriate to Ethiopia
  • To organize nurses under the umbrella of ENA so as to provide standardized nursing service to the community
  • To advocate and stand for the rights of nurses and clients through working partnership with concerned health policy makers & others

Strategy

  • Increasing membership
  • Establishing network with International Council of Nurses (ICN) and associations like Canadian Nurses Association (CNA)
  • Building the capacity of its members through training
  • Working with ministry of health and other government and non government organizations whose objectives are improving the health care system in Ethiopia

Activities of the Organization

  • Establishing new branch associations and increasing the membership
  • Strengthening the association at the national level
  • Conduct training program and capacity building workshops for members
  • Increasing the capacity of ENA in developing & managing projects
  • Participating in various meetings, workshops and seminars nationally & internationally on nursing, health & gender issues

  • Voice of Nurses- Biannual Magazine
