Vision of the Organization

  • To see the attainment of an acceptable standard of health service for Ethiopian woman
  • To see all women free from Cervical and Breast Cancer

General Objective

  • To undertake and or participate in an effort to promote of women’s health issues in Ethiopia
  • Advocate and promote the prevention of trauma to the incidence of rape in Ethiopia
  • Decrease mortality and morbidity of Cervical & Breast Cancer that affects Ethiopian women by establishing cancer prevention and control unit

Specific Objectives

  • To provide free, confidential, professional and voluntary service to sexual assault victims in Addis Ababa
  • To increase an awareness that sexual assault is a threat to society, in general and youth young women in particular give support, such as skill training that is marketable to help the beneficiaries support themselves and to become self-reliant in our target area and referred victims from other areas
  • To mobilize the community on the issue of sexual assault
  • To increase the conviction rate of assailant
  • Establish a resource center on women’s health and carry out advocacy activities and promote essential health research on women and facilitate the dissemination of appropriate information
  • Establish Cervical and Breast Cancer Prevention and Control Unit
  • Establish a palliative care unit
  • Establish a model palliative care demonstration project center in partnership with other stakeholders
  • Establish a sustainable working relationship with government and non-government organizations who are focusing on women’s health issues
  • Strengthen the capacity of its center in human and financial resources
  • Empower women to handle activities, which are related to their health and promote income-generating activities and provide information on gender issues

Strategy

  • Follow up the designed pilot project to establish a centralized crisis response center for sexual assault victims in Addis Ababa
  • Designed a strategic plan as soon as possible to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization’s direction
  • Network with International Cancer Organizations
  • Establish Cervical and Breast Cancer Prevention and Control unit. And a palliative care unit
  • Enhance networking with government, and non-governments organization and professional associations

Activities of the Organization

  • Rape crisis intervention project
    • To address the issue of sexual assault both from a public health as well as from a human rights perspective
    • To undertake operations research in sexual assault “rape” in Addis Ababa City Administration
    • To increase the awareness of the problem of “rape” and emphasize lasting change by promoting reforms that represents the interest of rape victims and potential rape victims and decrease, the incidence of rape in the project area and referred victims from other parts of Addis Ababa
  • Plan to establish Cervical and Breast Cancer Prevention and Control Unit
  • Establish a clinic to offer health services to the Community
  • Strengthen the Information Education Communication Program
  • Assess and promote support for treatments to enhance Palliative Care Services in Ethiopia
  • Networking with International Rape Crisis Intervention Centers
