Vision of the organization

To see fundamental changes in the livelihood of women in Tigray in general and members of the association in particular through their equal participations in and benefits from the political, economic, social and cultural aspects undertaking in the region with their male counterparts.

General objective

To empower women in all aspects i.e. the political, economic and social life of the region on par with their male counterparts

Specific objectives

To make the rural and urban members of the association participants of and beneficiaries from the poverty alleviation endeavors of the region by building the existing capacity step by step,
To improve the livelihood of women through diversifying their sources of incomes accompanied with skill training programs and credit,
To upgrade the capacity of women through formal and non-formal education and training programs
To undertake organized resistance against the thoughts and actions that negatively influence the rights of members
To strengthen the independence of the association and mobilize new members to come and join as well as strengthen the organization
To make efforts that raise the participation of women to 50% in education in quality as well as quantity
To undertake different development activities that enhance sources of income of the association
To bring behavioral changes of association members and their families on HIV/AIDS to enable them to take appropriate measures against the prevalence
To improve the health situations through nutritional and health education practices and reduce harmful traditional practices as much as possible, and finally
To strengthen the relationships with government organizations and NGOs working in the region

Activities of the Organization

Provision of capacity building training for association leaders at all levels
Raising women’s awareness to enable them to take greater parts in development activities
Conducting seminars and workshops on the amended family law and eradication of harmful traditional practices such as early marriage
Dissemination of information to association members as well as to the whole community
Provision of skill training programs and credit facilities
Provision of health education to association members,
female students, sex workers, GOs, NGOs as well as female workers
Provision of financial assistance and training to sex workers for prevention of HIV/AIDS
Conducting literacy programs to association members and others
